PlyEdit Interface

In minutes, PlyEdit automatically assembles multiple PLY files to create a highly detailed 3D color model. In a variety of cases, this approach offers the best accuracy for creating a complete model.

When PlyEdit combines scans, it keeps the points from each file that are most likely to be accurate, in the same way that CyPie functions. Thus, when the assembly process is complete, the final model consists of the best points from the original files.

The result is extraordinary coverage and accuracy. The speed and automation of these tools make the process practical and efficient.

PlyEdit reads binary PLY files and writes a single binary PLY file. PlyEdit comes with the PlyView utility, a viewer that displays PLY range data, the color map applied to the range data, the confidence levels, polygonal representations, and polylines. Utilities are also supplied for converting to several different industry-standard file formats, which can be edited in many different software environments.
